In a tragic turn of events in Odisha's Bolangir district, Padmini Bag allegedly died by suicide just hours after her husband, Sevak Bag, succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Sevak Bag was critically injured when an unidentified vehicle collided with his auto-rickshaw on the Sonepur-Balangir National Highway-57. Despite receiving immediate medical attention at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital, he passed away on Friday morning, police reported.
Stricken by grief and reportedly losing her mental balance, Padmini jumped from a hospital building when left unattended. The local police have launched a thorough investigation to understand the circumstances leading to this double tragedy, while the couple's two children, aged six and three, now face a future without parents.
