Tragic Shooting of Jeweller Sparks Town Protest

A jeweller in Baberu town was shot dead by a neighbor, leading to immediate police action and local unrest. Tej Pratap Soni, 42, was attacked around 8.45 pm on Friday and died in the hospital. His assailant, 55-year-old Aslam, was quickly apprehended and is undergoing treatment after being shot by police during a confrontation.

The police revealed that Soni and Aslam knew each other, and the attack might have been influenced by alcohol. The community was stirred by the incident, prompting a protest by local traders and Soni's family. They expressed outrage over the body's handling, which they claimed lacked proper communication.

After approximately 90 minutes of protest at the town's main intersection, the situation was defused once the police confirmed the arrest of the alleged shooter. The protest highlighted the community's demand for transparency and justice in the wake of the incident.
