Crackdown on J&K Drug Smugglers: Properties Worth Rs 3.5 Crore Seized

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken a firm stance against narcotics smuggling, seizing properties valued at Rs 3.5 crores on Saturday, officials reported. This initiative is part of the intensified efforts under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, aimed at curbing drug trafficking.

Sangam police station spearheaded the operation, attaching two properties linked to suspects Shakeel Ahmad Ganie and Farooq Ahmad Mir, both inhabitants of Noorbagh's Kreshbal area. The legal action was executed under Section 68F of the NDPS Act, as detailed by the police spokesperson.

The confiscated assets include a double-storey house and land belonging to Ganie, worth over Rs 2 crores, and a similar property of Mir's, valued at approximately Rs 1.5 crores. Authorities have identified these assets as proceeds from drug trafficking activities.
