The Thiruvananthapuram City Cyber Police have registered a case against individuals for allegedly threatening a member of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's security team through social media. This action follows a complaint by Sandeep Sasidharan, the officer involved.
The threats surfaced after the state assembly election, with social media posts from accounts linked to the Congress, Youth Congress, and KSU purportedly promising repercussions once the UDF regains power. These posts contained the complainant's photograph, name, and abusive language.
Police have identified individuals connected to the social media accounts and plan to summon them as part of the investigation. The case falls under Sections 296(b), 351(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, according to official sources.
