The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed a criminal case involving industrialist Bina Modi, her security guard Surendra Prasad, and lawyer Lalit Bhasin. The case, linked to the alleged assault of her son Samir Modi during a 2024 board meeting, was dropped after Samir withdrew his complaint.

Samir, former executive director of Godfrey Philips India, conveyed his withdrawal through a video conference to Justice Saurabh Banerjee. This decision came after reaching a settlement with Bina, Prasad, and Bhasin, who had previously sought to quash the case.

The case originated from a June 2024 FIR that accused Prasad of assaulting Samir under Bina's instructions. While Prasad faced charges, Bina and Bhasin were cleared due to insufficient evidence. The trial court initially failed to dismiss the case, allowing the judicial process to determine guilt or innocence.
