In a significant development, three suspects in the murder case of Chandranath Rath, a key aide to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, have been remanded to police custody for 13 days. The arrests were executed following their detention in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), established to probe the high-profile case, presented the accused before the Barasat court in North 24 Parganas district. The court ordered their custody, responding to the SIT's request for extended police remand for thorough investigation.

Chandranath Rath was tragically shot dead shortly after the state's assembly poll results. Currently, the SIT is intensifying its efforts, conducting raids statewide to apprehend additional suspects involved in this crime.
