India is making strides towards becoming a global leader by fusing innovation with resilience, Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav said on Monday. He highlighted India's rapid economic and sustainable development, driven by advances in renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and start-ups.

Speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) conference, Yadav noted that India is the world's fastest-growing major economy and stands third globally in renewable energy capacity. The country's solar capacity has dramatically increased to 150 gigawatts by March 2026, meeting green energy obligations ahead of schedule.

Yadav also spotlighted the upcoming International Big Cat Alliance Summit 2026, encouraging corporate funds for big cat conservation. He stressed that corporate partnerships are vital for habitat restoration, monitoring, and community-based conservation efforts.
