Sweden Nabs Duo for Alleged Role in Supplying Tech to Russia
Two individuals have been detained in Sweden on suspicion of aiding Russia in acquiring advanced engineering products, potentially in breach of EU sanctions. The Swedish security service SAPO linked the hi-tech gear to Moscow's war efforts in Ukraine. The suspects, a Swedish and a Turkish national, face legal proceedings.

Swedish authorities have apprehended two people suspected of assisting Russia in acquiring advanced engineering products, a possible violation of EU sanctions, according to an announcement made by the Swedish security service, SAPO, on Monday. The products were allegedly intended for use in Moscow's war efforts in Ukraine.
Christoffer Wedelin, Deputy Head of Operations at SAPO, emphasized the importance of technology for the Russian war industry, including Swedish technology, in continuing its aggressive campaign in Ukraine. Multiple locations in Stockholm as well as the southern and western parts of Sweden were searched as part of the investigation, he stated.
Court documents identified the detained individuals as a Swedish and a Turkish citizen. The Swedish national was formally detained by a Stockholm court on Friday while the Turkish national was awaiting a detention hearing scheduled for later on Monday.
