The CBI court ordered a three-day remand for two middlemen arrested in a Rs 13 lakh bribery case within the Punjab Vigilance office in Mohali.
During the late-night operation, the CBI apprehended Vikas Goyal and his son Raghav, while Ankit Wadhwa, another suspect, was sent to judicial custody. The arrests stem from allegations involving senior officials, as a non-bailable warrant was issued for O P Rana, who remains absconding.
Officials state the case triggered from a complaint by a Punjab State Tax Officer against the accused for demanding a bribe to settle a matter. Following confirmation of the bribe exchange, a CBI raid led to the recovery of the illicit amount and a mobile phone, marking a significant anti-corruption move.
