A shocking sword attack left three people injured in Odisha's Cuttack district on Tuesday, according to police reports. The brazen daylight assault occurred near Mundali Barrage, Barang police limits.
Kanhu Dalai, the primary target, was eating 'dahibara' at a roadside stall when two motorbike riders launched a surprise attack. Dalai suffered severe abdominal injuries during the incident. Responding to his cries for help, a dahibara vendor and a shop owner came to his rescue, but were assaulted in the process, identified as Anil Kumar Lenka and Ranjan Kumar Rout.
Lenka and Rout were treated and discharged from the hospital, while Dalai continues to recover at SCB Medical College and Hospital, with his condition reportedly stable.
