Biren Vaishnav, a former judge of the Gujarat High Court, has officially assumed the role of the Lokayukta for Gujarat. The inauguration ceremony was held in Gandhinagar, marking the beginning of a five-year term for him.
The oath of office was administered by Governor Acharya Devvrat at Lok Bhavan, as per a notification from the General Administration Department. This pivotal event was witnessed by several dignitaries, including Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
Justice Vaishnav retired from his position as a high court judge in June of the previous year, and his appointment to this new role underscores his lasting commitment to public service.
