Dattatreya Hosabale, a top functionary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stated that India remains a Hindu nation, emphasizing historical continuity despite diverse religious groups. He insisted that all Indians share the same ancestry and DNA, arguing against the perception of minorities as second-class citizens.
Speaking to PTI, Hosabale challenged the narrative of minority fear, citing that religious diversity has not diminished over time. He questioned whether Muslims were facing demographic decline or systemic discrimination, citing BJP-ruled states as evidence against such claims.
Despite Hosabale's assurances, Muslim and opposition leaders voice concerns of minority disillusionment under BJP governance, highlighting incidents of mob violence and discriminatory practices. Hosabale refuted these allegations, advocating for national unity based on shared heritage, while dismissing the concept of minorities as an outdated notion within India.
