In a shocking incident, a 72-year-old chartered accountant became the victim of a heinous crime involving abduction and robbery, allegedly orchestrated by four perpetrators, one of whom is a serving Army personnel, police reported on Wednesday.
Named as Surender, Kalpana Kumari, Kuldeep, and Sushil, the accused executed a honey-trap to lure the elderly victim from his Sainik Farms residence in south Delhi. The victim was subsequently assaulted, robbed of valuable items, kidnapped in his sedan, and later abandoned after a failed extortion attempt.
Following a 36-hour investigation, police apprehended the key conspirators, Kalpana and Surender, with further raids leading to the capture of the remaining suspects and recovery of stolen goods. Investigators continue to probe the possibility of similar past offenses by the gang, marking a significant bust of the criminal network.
