Europe's Role in Ukraine Peace Talks Dismissed by Russia

The Kremlin has unequivocally ruled out Europe's potential role in mediating the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, citing Europe's current involvement on Ukraine's side. This was reported by the Russian state-run RIA news agency on Thursday, quoting Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov emphasized that, from Russia's perspective, Europe's contributions align more with the Ukrainian side, thus disqualifying it as a neutral party in any potential peace negotiations. This aligns with Moscow's long-standing view of European involvement as partial.

Meanwhile, peace talks between Russia and Ukraine have been at a standstill since February when the United States, which had been acting as a mediator, shifted its diplomatic focus towards the emerging conflict in Iran.
