During an interactive session at the 'Kalam and Kavach' defence conclave, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan highlighted the Indian armed forces' strategic dominance in Operation Sindoor. Gen Chauhan credited superior situational awareness for dominating the escalation over four days of the conflict.
Launched to retaliate against the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor involved targeted strikes on terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir (PoK). The CDS emphasized India's ability to foresee developments and dominate every escalation step across the border.
Despite precision strikes and strategic planning, Gen Chauhan warned against the dangers of prolonged warfare, urging clear objectives and exit strategies. The conflict concluded after reaching an understanding on May 10, underscoring the importance of clear politico-military objectives.
