Uttar Pradesh Government Announces Relief Measures Amid Devastating Storms

The Uttar Pradesh government has unveiled a series of relief measures following a spate of thunderstorms and heavy rains that have hit the state. The announcement came amidst a review meeting where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the need for swift and efficient relief operations.

Compensation has been structured for both human and agricultural losses, with Rs 4 lakh earmarked for families of the deceased, and a sliding scale of compensation for affected farmers based on crop type and land ownership. The swift assessment of damage and timely delivery of aid were stressed upon.

Implementation details were discussed with district officials via video conferencing, ensuring a transparent process. More than 34 crore warning alerts were issued, and a hotline has been established for ongoing support. Relief efforts are being closely monitored to prevent any bureaucratic delays.
