Unrelenting Aggression: Russia's Largest Aerial Assault on Ukraine
Russia executed its largest aerial assault on Ukraine, targeting Kyiv and other cities with over 1,500 drones and missiles. In two days, at least 27 civilians died. Despite talks of the war ending, President Zelenskiy insists these attacks indicate otherwise, urging international support to defend Ukraine's skies.
In a dramatic escalation, Russia carried out its largest aerial assault on Ukraine since the war began, targeting Kyiv and multiple cities with more than 1,500 drones and missiles over two days. Ukraine's President Zelenskiy reported at least 27 civilian casualties, including children, during these relentless attacks.
Despite Russian President Vladimir Putin's claim that the conflict is nearing its conclusion, Zelenskiy argued the massive strikes, involving over 670 attack drones and 56 missiles overnight, demonstrate an ongoing aggressive stance. He called for international partners not to remain silent and to continue supporting the defense of Ukraine's airspace.
Ukraine's capitals bore the brunt of the assault, with significant civilian infrastructure damage. Rescue efforts continue, involving more than 1,500 workers across Ukraine. Zelenskiy emphasized the need for diplomatic efforts to prevent Russian access to military technology. Meanwhile, the turmoil persists, with disrupted electricity supplies and damaged port and railway infrastructure across the nation.
