Odisha on Alert: CM's Call for United Front Against Crime

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has called for a collaborative approach between civil and police authorities to curb rising organised crime across the state. This directive came during his second review of the state's law and order situation in a week, prompted by recent violent incidents.

Majhi mandated district collectors and Superintendents of Police to coordinate with regional commissioners and DIGs for effective enforcement. The aim is to instil confidence among citizens and deter criminals through increased intelligence efforts and comprehensive patrolling systems, contributing to a higher conviction rate among offenders.

Simultaneously, the opposition BJD mounted a protest, challenging the handling of law and order under Majhi's administration, citing incidents like the mob lynching of a constable. Demonstrations occurred across the state, demanding accountability for rising crime rates.
