Jewellery Shop Owner Fends Off Armed Robbers in Mumbra
Two armed men attempted a robbery at a jewellery shop in Mumbra, Thane, injuring the owner, Shambhu Singh Hira Singh Chowhan. The robbers fled when Chowhan raised an alarm. The suspects were arrested the following day, and charges were filed under various legal statutes.

In a shocking incident in Mumbra, Thane, two armed assailants targeted a local jewellery shop, 'Shri Khedadevi Jewellers'. The owner, Shambhu Singh Hira Singh Chowhan, was stabbed during the foiled robbery attempt on Diva-Patil road around midday on Wednesday.
The intruders, wielding what appeared to be a pistol and a knife, entered the shop and threatened Chowhan, who bravely resisted their demands. Despite being injured, his cries for help forced the attackers to flee the scene.
Police swiftly registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Arms Act, and Maharashtra Police Act, encompassing charges of robbery, trespassing, and associated offenses. Thanks to the efforts of diligent law enforcement, the suspects were apprehended on Thursday.
