Major Reshuffle in Maharashtra Police Forces

In a significant reshuffle of the police forces in Maharashtra, Deepak Sakore, an IPS officer and husband of Maharashtra Minister Meghna Sakore-Bordikar, has been promoted to the position of Joint Commissioner of Police in Navi Mumbai. An official release confirmed Sakore's promotion from Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime).

The large-scale transfer involved 52 Indian Police Service officers across the state, indicating a strategic repositioning by the state Home Department. Alongside Sakore's promotion, Prashant Mohite, Deputy Commissioner of Police in Navi Mumbai, has been transferred to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Other noteworthy transfers include S Jayakumar, of the 2004 IPS batch, who will serve as the special IG, Force-1 in Maharashtra, and Mohammed Suvez Haque, a 2005-batch officer, who will take over as Joint CP (Administration) in Mumbai. The changes reflect ongoing adjustments within the force to tackle administrative and operational demands.
