In a significant bureaucratic shift, the Gujarat government on Wednesday transferred 72 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across various departments.
Among the notable changes, the Municipal Commissioner of Jamnagar, D N Modi, has been appointed as the Development Commissioner in Gandhinagar. Anand Patel, previously the Collector of Kutch-Bhuj, is now the Commissioner of Schools in Gandhinagar, with additional responsibilities in education and midday meal programs.
Further key transfers include Sujeet Kumar as the Special Commissioner of State Tax, and Ajay Prakash, formerly with GEDA, taking on a new role with the Energy and Petrochemicals Department. These moves underscore the state's strategic realignments in vital sectors like education and energy.
