Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday addressed concerns regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's numerous foreign trips and their funding. Echoing sentiments from the ruling BJP, Rijiju emphasized the seriousness of these inquiries, pressing Gandhi to provide travel details to appropriate authorities to prevent potential legal action.

During a press conference, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra revealed that Gandhi embarked on 54 foreign trips over the past 22 years, incurring Rs 60 crore in total travel expenses. This expenditure stands in contrast to Gandhi's annual reported income of Rs 11 crore over the last decade, sparking demands for clarification.

Rijiju stated that MPs are obliged to notify relevant secretariats of foreign travels according to the FCRA Act 2010. He stressed that undisclosed foreign hospitality might lead to penalties, urging Gandhi to clarify the purpose and sponsorship for his travels, including an unreported visit to Muscat.
