In a shocking incident in Shergarh, a man reportedly resorted to violence when his marriage proposal was declined, allegedly throwing acid on a woman and her family. The attack took place while the victims were asleep, causing injuries to the woman, her husband, and their two children.
Police investigations reveal that the accused, Umesh Kashyap, had been insistent on marrying the already married woman despite being married himself. The family was attacked while they slept in an outdoor verandah, the assailant allegedly climbing onto the roof to execute the crime.
Following the attack, the victims were rushed to a local health center, with one member requiring further treatment at the district hospital. An FIR has been lodged, and police have initiated efforts to apprehend Kashyap as the search intensifies for his capture.
