In a significant breakthrough for local authorities, an illegal arms manufacturing unit was uncovered in Baraut, leading to the arrest of three suspects. The operation was conducted based on police intelligence regarding the ongoing illicit activity from a dilapidated structure near the Eastern Yamuna Canal barrage.
During the raid, officers apprehended Salim, Farman, and Shoaib, discovering an extensive inventory of firearms and weapon-making equipment. Items recovered included 13 country-made .315 bore pistols and various tools used in the production of illegal arms.
While the operation dismantled the active manufacturing site, police reported that the gang's suspected mastermind evaded capture. As investigations continue, authorities have registered a case at Baraut police station and are pursuing further legal actions.
