In a significant crackdown, Delhi Police dismantled an adulterated spice manufacturing unit in Khari Baoli, Old Delhi, arresting a key suspect identified as Kamaljeet. This move comes after seizing over 801 kg of spurious spices and raw materials meticulously designed for deception.
The illicit operation employed low-grade ingredients such as artificial colors, rice fragments, and chilli stalks to counterfeit spices like turmeric, red and yellow chilli, coriander, and garam masala. These adulterated products were distributed across Delhi-NCR, flouting food safety norms.
Authorities executed a raid on May 23, armed with critical intelligence about the illegal enterprise. Participating officers documented the seizure through the E-Sakshya app, while food safety officials gathered samples for lab analysis, paving the way for further legal actions.
