Opposition Criticizes Tamil Nadu Government's Crop Loan Waiver Plan

The opposition parties in Tamil Nadu have voiced their disapproval of the government's crop loan waiver plan, accusing it of not meeting election promises. The decision to cap waivers at Rs 50,000 instead of offering a full waiver to farmers with up to 5 acres of land has drawn significant criticism.

DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin expressed disappointment, accusing the government of breaching trust. AIADMK Chief Edappadi K Palaniswami also criticized the move, calling it a 'scientific deception' meant to distract from ongoing political issues. He highlighted the AIADMK's previous complete waiver of Rs 12,110 crore.

Meanwhile, PMK founder Dr. S Ramadoss offered a different perspective, appreciating the government's efforts but urging for more comprehensive support schemes. He emphasized the need for accessible resources and continuous schemes to assist Tamil Nadu's farmers effectively.
