Amit Shah Opens New Women's Barracks, Enhances Border Infrastructure in Rajasthan

Amit Shah inaugurated 14 new barracks for female Border Security Force personnel at a border outpost in Bikaner, Rajasthan, on Tuesday. He underlined the government's dedication to providing equal opportunities for women across all sectors, particularly in border security.

During his address at the Sanchu border outpost, Shah criticized past administrations for overlooking women's roles and necessities in border security. By 2030, Shah promised adequate facilities for women posted in these challenging areas. He revealed that 79 barracks for women have been approved in Rajasthan, with 67 already built for around Rs 39 crore. Overall, 356 barracks are planned at a budget of approximately Rs 200 crore to improve conditions for women personnel.

The home minister also highlighted the construction of a 1,096-km lateral road and a 520-km axial road to enhance connectivity in Rajasthan's desert. Additionally, work on innovative fencing is ongoing and piped drinking water is now available at 180 border posts.

Shah mentioned that the Central Armed Police Forces have actively contributed to environmental conservation through widespread tree planting, with 7.35 crore trees planted within five years. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives, planting a Khejri tree sapling himself, a species valued in desert regions.
