Gujarat Agencies Intercept Major Cocaine Shipment Near Mundra Port

A collaborative operation between the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the Indian Coast Guard resulted in the seizure of 115 kg of cocaine valued at Rs 1,150 crore. The drugs were found on a cargo vessel anchored near Mundra port, with suspects including Tanzanian national Juma Nasir Omar apprehended.

The cocaine is believed to have traveled through multiple countries before reaching India. Officials traced its route beginning from Brazil, through Latin America, Mexico, and Pakistan. Intelligence-led operations allowed for the successful interception of the vessel, marking a significant victory against international drug trafficking.

The operation involved the use of GPS and satellite communication equipment, suggesting sophisticated tracking and logistics were employed by the traffickers. Continued investigations are focusing on uncovering further details about the intended distribution and network connections involving Nigerian and Ugandan nationals in Delhi.
