Five individuals have been arrested after a disruption was reported at the home of Samajwadi Party MLA Maharaji Prajapati in Awas Vikas Colony. The incident reportedly involved death threats and assault, provoked by a social media argument between the MLA's supporters.
According to the complaint filed by her son, Anurag Prajapati, the confrontation attracted over three dozen people to the scene, allegedly leading to a physical altercation and threats to the family. Police have registered a case against several named and unnamed offenders, as efforts to apprehend further suspects continue.
The altercation arose from a heated social media disagreement between supporters, prompting a response from authorities. Ensuring peace, law enforcement officers have been stationed at the location, affirming the safety of the MLA and her family.
The accused, including figures like Sher Bahadur Yadav and Jai Singh Yadav, allegedly attempted to prevent documentation of the event by confiscating mobile phones from the women present. The police, having made arrests, are on the lookout for the remaining individuals implicated in this disruptive incident.
