Authorities in Thane filed three separate FIRs after disturbances over sacrificial goats at a local residential complex. The tension began when residents and local Hindu groups protested against the establishment of a temporary goat shed ahead of the Bakrid festival.

The controversy boiled over at the Srishti Complex when attempts to bring a pig into the area followed protests by local residents and members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Although no arrests have been made, police have strengthened security measures and ensured the situation is calming as the festival approaches.

Additional police forces have been deployed across Thane and Palghar districts, with route marches conducted to maintain peace during the celebrations. The authorities removed the goats in municipal vehicles after escalating tensions and reports of injuries.
