The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, C Joseph Vijay, has concluded his first official trip to Delhi, choosing not to engage in political discussions with Congress leaders. His visit was primarily focused on attending to official state matters.
During his stay, Vijay met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss critical issues such as the Mekedatu dam controversy and the arrest of fishermen. He also sought support for crucial infrastructure projects. Although he did not meet Congress leaders, a future meeting is anticipated around June 11, highlighting ongoing political dialogues.
Addressing reporters, Congress MP Christopher Tilak clarified that the meeting with Rahul Gandhi has been postponed, not canceled. Meanwhile, Vijay's discussions with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman revolved around investment priorities for Tamil Nadu's development objectives, emphasizing support for metropolitan rail projects and industry growth.
