India and Singapore Advance Defence Partnerships

India and Singapore conducted extensive talks targeting defence cooperation and security enhancement. These discussions focused on fortifying the strategic ties between the two countries, highlighting the ongoing collaboration amidst global tensions.

During the 16th Defence Policy Dialogue, co-chaired by India's Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Singapore's Permanent Secretary for Defence Joseph Leong, both parties reiterated the strong defence partnership. They explored opportunities in digital warfare and addressed regional security developments.

The dialogue included a visit to the Digital Operations Technology Centre of the Singapore Armed Forces, showcasing Singapore's technological advances and potential collaboration with India's military in emerging military domains.

The convergence also acts as a precursor to India's presentation at the Shangri-La Dialogue, emphasizing the need for robust defence strategies in response to looming geopolitical challenges, as noted by the International Institute of Strategic Studies.
