According to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, the future of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) appears bleak following its split in July 2023. This division, which saw Ajit Pawar join the Eknath Shinde government, has reportedly led to regret among leaders who distanced themselves from Sharad Pawar.
Raut accused various NCP leaders of remorse over their decision to ally with the BJP, highlighting their current predicament. Additionally, he condemned the BJP's alleged involvement in the NEET exam paper leak, a scandal he claims has put students in distress and tarnished Maharashtra's reputation. Raut criticized the state and central BJP governments for their failure to prevent the leak.
He further highlighted the strain on students resulting from the leak and questioned Maharashtra's leadership accountability in the incident. Discussing broader political dynamics, Raut praised Karnataka's leadership transition under Congress' guidance, recognizing Siddaramaiah's decision to resign as a rare event in Indian politics.
