In Jharkhand's Palamu district, a man lost his life in a tragic incident when he was run over by a car allegedly driven by a government medical officer. The mishap occurred at Sikki village within the Patan Police Station area late on Thursday night.
According to authorities, the vehicle's driver lost control while making a turn, leading to the accident that struck Vinod Singh, who was sleeping outside his home. Police reported that Singh, a tempo driver by trade, died instantly. Meanwhile, the medical officer sustained severe injuries and is currently hospitalized.
Anil Kumar Vidyarthi, officer-in-charge at Patan Police Station, explained that the vehicle crashed into the house during the accident. They have sent the body's remains for a post-mortem and are conducting an investigation to gather further details. Additional statements from the doctor involved are awaited.
