BJP Urges Siddaramaiah to Address Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Payment Delays

BJP legislator S Suresh Kumar has pressed outgoing Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to clarify the status of Rs 5,000 crore meant for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme. Allegations suggest that payments for early 2025 have not reached their intended beneficiaries, leading to calls for transparency before Siddaramaiah leaves office.

The BJP's S Suresh Kumar has called on Karnataka's outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to account for Rs 5,000 crore allocated for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme. This demand arises as concerns grow over payments for February and March 2025, allegedly pending for eligible families.

In a bid to resolve the uncertainty, Kumar has urged Siddaramaiah to settle these amounts prior to his departure. Previously, during a legislative session at Suvarna Soudha, Kumar's colleague Mahesh Tenginakai highlighted the issue, which remains unresolved. Documentary evidence was presented refuting claims by a minister that payments were dispatched. The opposition staged protests in the Karnataka Assembly, demanding action.
