As he finished his tenure as Chief of Defence Staff, Anil Chauhan described his years of service as highly fulfilling. Over nearly four years, his main focus was on creating greater cohesion among India's military branches.
On Sunday, NS Raja Subramani will officially assume the position, marking a new chapter for India's defense leadership.
Chauhan, who assumed the CDS role in September 2022 following the untimely death of Bipin Rawat, implemented several initiatives aimed at improving joint operations among the army, navy, and air force. His efforts were particularly centered around Operation Sindoor and the introduction of integrated military commands.
During a ceremonial guard of honour, Chauhan expressed gratitude for the collaborative spirit among the services, acknowledging the transition from his military duties to civilian life.
