Farmers in the Pilibanga town of Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district staged a protest on a Saturday, briefly halting train services by blocking a railway track. The group demands an extension on the wheat procurement deadline while asking for larger procurement quotas from the government.
The protest, which lasted about an hour, was dissolved after authorities intervened. However, farmers remain persistent in their demands, citing uncollected wheat piles in mandis. Negotiations have yet to yield results, with farmers urging government-level decisions to address these issues, including procurement system inefficiencies.
