Five Heroic Rescuers Drown Saving Child from Tungabhadra River

A tragic incident occurred in Kurnool district where five individuals lost their lives while heroically trying to save a young girl from drowning in the Tungabhadra River. The girl slipped into the river while washing her feet and was nearly swept away by the fast-moving current.

The rescuers, who hailed from nearby villages, leapt into the river to save her. While the girl was safely brought to shore, the five brave souls drowned. Authorities have been able to recover one of the bodies and are continuing their search with the help of State Disaster Management Force teams. Local police have initiated a case under relevant sections concerning death due to drowning.
