Subramani succeeds Anil Chauhan, who retired as the nation's top military leader. Known for his expertise on Pakistan and China, Subramani previously served as the Military Advisor at the National Security Council Secretariat and as Vice Chief of Army Staff.
His military career spans over four decades, during which he has held numerous significant positions, including General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Command. Subramani's new role prioritizes implementing a comprehensive theaterisation model to unify military operations.
