In a decisive military action, Israeli forces have captured the significant Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon. This operation represents Israel's most substantial intrusion into Lebanese territory in over two decades.
The strategic takeover came after several days of vigorous combat and air operations against Hezbollah in the nearby mountainous areas. The capture significantly advances Israel's position in the ongoing hostilities that reignited earlier this year. The two countries engaged in dialogue in Washington to address the long-standing war since Israel's founding.
Avichay Adraee, the Israeli army's Arabic spokesperson, shared images of Israeli soldiers near the historic site. Israel previously controlled the castle for nearly two decades until their 2000 withdrawal.
