The Capacity Building Commission (CBC) will broaden its 'Jan Seva' programme to encompass India's states, Union Territories, and Public Sector Undertakings. This move is designed to nurture a deeper spirit of service and increase empathy among government officials, according to CBC chief S Radha Chauhan.

The initiative aims to inspire behavioral changes in civil servants by fostering an ethos of 'seva bhaav,' or the spirit of service. Chauhan conveyed that such alignment between external acts and internal purpose not only enhances empathy but also leads to more effective and citizen-focused service delivery.

With over 10 lakh central government employees trained so far, the expansion plan involves training state-level master trainers, who will further disseminate the program within their regions and organizations. Chauhan highlighted that this initiative marks a comprehensive and ongoing effort rather than a single exercise, offering continuous learning and transformation opportunities for public officials.

The CBC, which oversees the Mission Karmayogi framework, is committed to building a skilled civil service that resonates with Indian values and prioritizes effective service delivery. Mission Karmayogi is a national initiative aimed at fostering competent civil services.
