In the civic election count, BJP is demonstrating leads in the municipal domains of Mandi and Dharamshala, whereas Congress is gaining momentum in Palampur. These trends emerged as the vote count advanced on Sunday.
Conducted on May 17, the polling spanned 64 wards across four municipal corporations, emphasizing party allegiances. With Palampur showing the highest voter turnout at nearly 69%, the process reflects robust civic engagement.
Voting was conducted in 17 wards each in Dharamshala and Solan, and 15 wards each in Mandi and Palampur. Mandi's impressive voter participation reached nearly 67%, while Dharamshala and Solan witnessed 60.01% and 58.32% turnouts, respectively.
The ongoing results were celebrated by local BJP leaders who signaled that these civic poll outcomes might foretell success in the approaching state assembly elections in 2027.
BJP's edge in Dharamshala, leading in most wards, indicates strong public endorsement for its policies and projects, highlighting the party's influence in the region.
