The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has reportedly achieved nearly 80% of its desilting target. The effort focuses on large drains measuring four feet or more, set to conclude by June 30. As of May 19, 1,12,053.68 metric tonnes of silt have been removed from key drains.

Data shows variance in completion across zones, with Civil Lines exceeding its target at over 109% and other regions like Rohini nearing full completion. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party leaders voice concerns over potential waterlogging from incomplete desilting, particularly in areas like Shahdara and Najafgarh.
