A tragic accident at a construction site in Odisha's Kalahandi district claimed the lives of six individuals due to suspected asphyxiation, police reported.
The incident occurred at Gauda Karlakhunta village, where the victims were involved in work on an under-construction septic tank. The builder accidentally fell into the tank, prompting others to attempt a rescue.
Following the tragedy, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi offered condolences and announced Rs 4 lakh in financial aid for each victim's next of kin, while the investigation into the exact cause of the deaths is ongoing.
