Pakistan Army launched a heavy barrage of artillery and mortar fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, causing significant civilian casualties. Officials reported nine deaths and 41 injuries after the incursion, which followed Indian missile strikes on terror sites within Pakistan territories.
Amid the chaos, Indian armed forces were quick to retaliate, effectively targeting and neutralizing several hostile positions. All civilian deaths were recorded from Poonch district, most notably affecting border communities forced to seek shelter from the crossfire.
The conflict has prompted authorities to shut down educational institutions across five districts as tensions simmer. This marks the 13th day of night-time confrontations, notably rare post-ceasefire agreement of February 2021.
