On Wednesday, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, branding him an 'OCM' or outgoing chief minister. Yadav alleged that the current government systematically targets the Brahmin community and labeled it anti-Brahmin.
At a press meet at the state's SP headquarters following discussions with a Brahmin delegation led by ex-minister Pawan Pandey, Yadav highlighted cases of police misconduct and oppression. He recounted various incidents, including the burning of a family in Kanpur Dehat and a fatal beating in Jaunpur.
Yadav accused the state's law enforcement of acting with impunity under the current regime's directive and pointed to several high-profile cases as evidence of political vendetta. He questioned the unchecked freedom given to police under Adityanath's rule and reiterated solidarity with all oppressed communities.
