In the wake of rising tensions between India and Pakistan, all civilian and commercial flight activities at Gwalior's Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport have been suspended until May 9, as per an official statement on Wednesday.
Utilizing the runway of the Indian Air Force's Maharajpura airbase, a critical hub for fighter aircraft, the airport has been temporarily closed to civilian and commercial planes, confirmed Gwalior Airport Director Kashinath Yadav. The closure has also been communicated via social media channels.
The suspension follows India's precise retaliatory airstrikes on Wednesday that targeted key terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan, striking several high-value sites, while not crossing into Pakistan's airspace, in response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
