AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday called for Pakistan to be grey-listed by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), an entity combatting terrorist financing. Owaisi's remarks followed an all-party meeting amid escalating India-Pakistan tensions, sparked by the recent Operation Sindoor response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
While praising the Indian armed forces and the central government for Operation Sindoor, Owaisi advocated for international action against The Resistance Front (TRF), linked to Lashkar-e-Tayyiba. He urged the government to solicit the United States to designate TRF as a terrorist group. His statements came after a briefing by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
Owaisi mentioned a speech by Hafiz Saeed's son in PoK, calling for jihad, highlighting the need for lobbying the US to act against TRF. He stressed that victims of ceasefire violations in Poonch should be recognized and compensated as terrorism victims, pushing for strategic opportunities in Kashmir.
Owaisi also addressed reports of a Rafale aircraft downed in Bathinda, suggesting it should be refuted to maintain the armed forces' morale. He highlighted the successful destruction of terrorist sites in Bhawalpur and Muridke as key outcomes of Operation Sindoor.
