Friends of Steel: Xi and Putin Forge Stronger Sino-Russian Ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russia's Vladimir Putin have vowed to elevate Sino-Russian cooperation to unprecedented levels amidst rising tensions with the United States. During talks in the Kremlin, the leaders emphasized their commitment to a new world order not dominated by Western powers.

The two nations called for resolving the Ukraine conflict by addressing what they termed as its 'root causes', a stance Moscow has consistently maintained. Xi's visit to Moscow, coinciding with Russia's WWII commemorations, signals strong support for Putin, who faces international pressure to end the Ukrainian conflict.

Despite strained relations with Washington and ongoing sanctions, China and Russia have strengthened economic ties. Their alliance is positioned as a counter to perceived Western 'unilateralism and bullying', aiming for a significant boost in trade and investment by 2030.
