NCP (SP) legislator Uttam Jankar has advocated for a unified front of the Nationalist Congress Party under the leadership of Maharashtra's deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, within the current ruling alliance.

Jankar, representing Malshiras in Solapur, discussed with party leader Sharad Pawar the collective wish of four Solapur MLAs to amalgamate with Ajit Pawar's faction for a stronger grassroots initiative.

Following a split in July 2023, Jankar seeks cohesive party work and developmental support from the government, praising Ajit Pawar's assistance in addressing local water issues.
